Blackwell Hall Evacuation plan 

It is the responsibility of the individual/hirer to read and understand this document, and let delegates and guests know of this fire evacuation plan, prior to the commencement of the function. Therefore ensuring a means of escape to all.

In the event of an emergency leave by the nearest exit (IF SAFE TO DO SO) DIAL 999

The hirer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all persons in the hall.
The hirer must raise the alarm to all persons in the hall by smashing one of the break glass points.
These are located at

1. Main entrance to the hall, to the left of the main door

2. At the end of the corridor, past the kitchen, to the right of the fire door

3. In the main hall to the left of the stage to the right of the fire door

4. At the rear-left of the stage, next to the fire door
The hirer is responsible for ensuring the toilets are clear of people.
The emergency lighting will remain on and the fire exit signs are illuminated above the fire doors.
There are 4 emergency exit routes.

1. The Main entrance

 In the event of an emergency, fire exit routes are found at the main entrance to the hall, via the double doors, which open out onto All Saints’ Mews.   Close the fire doors once all people have left the building.  Turn right onto the main road (Uxbridge Road), walk on the pavement past the front of the hall, along the main road, if safe to do so.   Turn next right under the Lych gate and up the path, which leads to All Saints’ Church, and runs parallel to the side of the Blackwell Hall.
2. Via the fire exit at the end of the corridor

 In the event of an emergency the fire door at the end of the corridor. Push bar to open. This opens out into the hall carpark, at the rear of the building.   Turn right along the side of the Blackwell Hall.   Turn right to walk onto All Saints’ Mews, past the main entrance of the Blackwell Hall and towards the Main road.   Turn right onto the main road (Uxbridge Road), walk on the pavement past the front of the Blackwell Hall.   Turn right under the Lych gate and up the Church Path, which leads to All Saints’ Church runs parallel to the side of the Blackwell Hall.

3. Via the fire door in the main hall

 The fire door in the main hall is to the left of the base of the stage stairs. Push bar to open.   Turn left along the side of the Blackwell Hall, between the hall and the low wall.   Walk towards the main road.   Turn right onto the main road (Uxbridge Road),   Turn right under the Lych Gate and up the Church path, which leads to All Saints’ Church and runs parallel to the side of the Blackwell Hall

4. Via the fire door at the rear of the stage

 The fire door is far back-left on the stage. Push bar to open.   Walk down the small flight of external stairs.   When at ground level, turn left and walk along the side of the Blackwell Hall, between the hall and the low wall.   Walk towards the main road.  Turn right onto the main road (Uxbridge Road).   Turn right under the Lych Gate and up the Church path, which leads to All Saints’ Church and runs parallel to the side of the Blackwell Hall.

The Church pathway IS the congregation point
The Church Cemetery is the evacuation point.  Everyone is to remain along this path.  The hirer is to ring 999 and request the emergency service  that is required.
